      Hey Pratyasha!

Neurons are the basic brain cells and are in every part of the brain in their billions! One cubic millimetre has tens of thousands of neurons in it. Everything that you think of as “the brain” is mostly made up on huge amounts of neurons – just like your skin is made out of huge amounts of skin cells.

Neurons are how the brain works. They send chemical and electrical signals to other neurons when things happen in our world. Neurons in the visual cortex in the back of your brain will activate when you look at things. Neurons in your frontal lobe will be activating when you read this and try to understand.

Electrons are very different. They are tiny particles (much smaller than neurons!) that are part of atoms. While they are involved in brain processes, they are also involved in most other things in the universe.

      I hope that helps!
