I was fascinated by atoms and how they were constructed from protons, neutrons and electrons, and how the periodic table was simply elements with a different number of protons. I also found it fascinating how the electrons around the atoms determined how reactive they were. Then of course there were the experiments, where you would mix different chemicals together and they would react to create new ones. And the great thing was that Chemistry could explain all this.

The wonderful thing about science is that it explains how the world is today.
