• Question: What is the scariest thing you've had to deal with working as a Prison Psychologist?

      Thanks for the question. I’m guessing that if I didn’t do my job, I might assume that working in a prison would be a bit scary – but actually it probably feels pretty similar to working in a school or a hospital – there are just more doors and locks to keep opening and closing. So probably my scariest days at work have been when I’ve been giving evidence at parole hearings (which are a bit like being in court as a witness) or when I’ve given a lecture to people that I didn’t know.

      (Shh – Don’t mention it to the other clever scientists – but I was actually a bit scared about doing ‘I’m a scientist too’ – in case I gave some wrong answers. But now I’m really enjoying it and pleased that I did!)
