• Question: To what extent do you think being a clinical psychologist is hard?

      I think there are some things that are hard but they also make the job interesting. Really understanding what is going on for someone can sometimes be difficult, especially if you are trying to piece together lots of information from different people and places. That’s also pretty interesting though.
      I find doing neuropsychological assessments quite hard – like intelligence tests and things like that – but luckily I don’t have to do them very much in the jobs I work in now.
      Sometimes it can be hard when you’re trying to help people in very difficult situations too – if you feel like you’re helping someone to have the “least worst outcome” then that can feel a bit rubbish, especially if that outcome is still a pretty rough one.
