Imposter syndrome is rife in psychology. So many people spend a lot of their time wondering why they aren’t good enough, even if they are! I am guilty of this, as a perfectionist it can be tricky! The key is learning to use the anxiety or the self criticism in a positive way, I use mine to make sure my work is high quality and that I’m well prepared for all my seminars.
Self confidence might help, but that doesn’t mean if you’re insecure you can’t do psychology. Also, confidence can increase as time goes on, so just keep at it!

      Fab question!

I think confidence can really help but most people are not as confident as they seem – and it’s definitely possible to have a psychology job and not feel confident!

I feel more or less confident on different days and depending on what I’m doing – so if you don’t feel confident try not to let it get in the way of what you want to do. Often if we do the thing we want to do we get more confident doing it!
