Usually people do brilliantly at using the chance to talk things through with someone else to work out what THEY want to change. It’s really important that we work on what they want to be different and not what someone else thinks should change.
Sometimes people still feel stuck even after working on something, and there could be different reasons for that. It might be that I’m not the right therapist for them, or that it’s not the right time to have talking therapy, or that there’s something else going on which is more important. It’s fine to stop if therapy doesn’t feel like it’s working too and it’s really important that someone can say if they are feeling like this.
