      Yes, I stayed there for two years in a town called Wenchi, which is north of Kumasi. I taught Chemistry to GCSE and A level at Wenchi Secondary School. In fact I started up the 6th form Chemistry class and my colleague started up the 6th form Physics class, as the school had only taught up to GCSE level before we arrived.

      In the summer holiday I travelled around West Africa, visiting Upper Volta (now Burkino Faso), Mali and Nigeria.

      And I got really ill during my stay, contracting malaria several times plus an intestinal bug.
