Hmm, good question. I’m currently sifting through in my mind all the situations at work where I’ve felt really worried or nervous.

I think my most nerve wracking days have been when I have been called to give evidence in parole hearings – these are like court hearings with a judge, and a panel of experts. The panel’s job is to decide whether to release a prisoner on parole and as a forensic psychologist I am called as one of the witnesses. They can feel a bit scary as the panel and the lawyers question you about the report that you have written about a prisoner.

I’ve grown to like them a bit more now – but I used to get super nervous before them.
