      Good morning, and good question!

      1. Do more than the minimum, take risks. It is fairly easy to get a passing grade in university, but that doesn’t mean much. There will probably be a very small number of lectures and tutorials, giving you a lot of free time. Use some of that time to continue your studies. Sure, that might mean putting your face in books and articles, but you can do it however you like. Speak to your favourite staff members, watch youtube videos, learn statistics or different useful computer programmes. Learn more about the areas of psychology that you love the most – even if they wont be on your exams.

      2. Get to know people. Psychology is about people, so the more you communicate the more chances you have to find answers and questions. For example, when I was studying psychology I made an effort to get to know international students by volunteering as an ambassador. I have moved between many universities and worked with many different people with different ways of life. We live in a divided world, and you have the capability to bring it a little closer together through understanding and communication.

      3. Psychology is *very* statistical. Which is not the same as mathematical. This might be a very new area for you, so accept that – for a while – you will feel like you don’t know very much. This is a natural part of learning and you will have 3/4 years to get yourself up to speed 🙂

Just enjoy it :). Psychology is super flexible and you can be any sort of Psychologist you want to be. Good luck!
