At this moment in time my focus is on getting through my PhD. But I am also really keen to start doing research outside of my PhD. I’m helping on a few projects in the psychology department at uni which means I can hopefully be part of a few published papers also 🙂
I am also thinking about applying for a qualification called associate of the Higher Education Academy which recognises higher education teaching – probably next year!
It would be nice to see my grandchildren grow up and get married, but I am not sure I will live that long.
In terms of my professional life, working on Verifiable Credentials will keep me busy until my full retirement
I’d really like to keep trying things that are slightly outside my comfort zone. Shh – don’t tell the other scientists, but I was actually pretty worried about entering ‘I’m a scientist’ – in case I said something daft or wrong – but I’m really glad that I did now. My goals are that each year I try something that I haven’t tried before – and hopefully something I’m slightly nervous about doing – I’m hoping to start a period of study for a doctorate qualification in the next year.
I am hitting the big 30 this year, and so I have a few more adult plans than I’ve had up til now. This year I want to buy a house and soon after adopt my first dogs. I hope my work can continue to be more international so I get to travel more and more. Psychology has a lot of problems right now, and I would love to make my living trying to solve any of these problems to encourage it as a science – and help as many people with my research as possible.
Great question – I wander what your future goals are? 🙂
Fab question – At the moment my future goals are to finish the course I’m learning about organisational psychology, and finish off some projects I am working on – like the book for young people about mental health I’m doing. It’s nice to think about future goals – it can help us work out what we want to do next I think.
