Any time i’m with a participant I will record whatever data required for the study. Participants have the right to have their data withdrawn up to two weeks after taking part (around that anyway) if they decide they change their mind. But making sure all data is recorded is important for analysis!

This is a great question – because data is everywhere and we need to manage it carefully – so every day I will manage information about prisoners and staff at the prison – e.g. reports about a person. This is data too, and we need to make sure that we hold it securely and that we only keep what we need. We’re all getting lots better at doing this – I think we used to be a bit more relaxed and casual about other people’s data.

It all depends upon the project I am working on. One project I have at the moment is analysing computer log data to look for malicous messages from attackers. So in this project, recording actual computer data is very important.
But in my main project, developing Verifiable Credentials, I am not recording any data. We are recording program designs and data model designs, but this is not what I regard as recording data

Every day. I record participant brain data, but also ask participants to answer some questions and do some tests. I also record data about my own fitness using a smartwatch 🙂

Every time I see someone for therapy I write a brief note about what the session has been about. I keep these really safely and they are anonymised as well.
