• Question: Have you personally/with other respected psychologist, discovered or developed any potential treatments? If so, what aspect of psychology (probably Biopsychology) does it look into and how does it help any specific individual?

      HI!
I’ve been lucky enough to work in a few research groups with people developing treatments.

One was an intervention for young people having unusual experiences (like hearing voices or feeling watched) – we used CBT techniques to see if they were helpful and they were! The people I did that with have developed a really cool programme to do in schools, for all students.

Another thing I worked on was a teaching intervention for police officers to help them to spot signs of post traumatic stress in people who had experienced sexual assault. That involved going in to the Metropolitan police, which was really interesting.

Lastly I worked for a bit on a mindfulness programme for young people. I moved house before that project finished so I didn’t get to stay til the end but while I was part of that group it was really interesting to think about how to make mindfulness appealing to younger people.
